Yelawolf Says Shady Records Deal Has Been Done For Months, Explains Excitment

If you haven't read by now, Eminem recently announced the official signing of Slaughterhouse to Shady Records, which has been in the works for sometime. However, when he added that Yelawolf had been signed as well, that seemed to come outta left field.
The new roster is being dubbed "Shady 2.0", and Yelawolf is poised to be one of next big white rappers.
In an exclusive interview with Vibe days after the signing was announced, the Alabama rapper revealed that things have been finalized for months ... and it was actually pretty hard to keep things quiet, because of his excitement.
"Keeping quiet was the hardest shit in the world, honestly. I was just so excited for a while," Yelawold told Vibe.com. "And everyone from my team who did know was really responsible about not letting it out.
"But I met with Eminem about four to five months ago in Detroit. Paul and Em flew me and my manager out to just kick it and get acquainted. From that meeting, I had no idea it would turn into this situation. I remember Paul was asking me about the meth problem in Alabama and I told him that I wrote 'Pop The Trunk' based off that issue. Next thing I know, Em starts rapping some of my lines from the song. I can't even describe how that felt, I actually got super nervous," he continued.
Yela went on to explain how his mother broke into tears when he told her the good news ... and then, reflected on how he dreamed of this moment five years ago, before anyone knew who he was.
"When I called my mom to tell her -- she straight started 'boo hoo' crying, she was just so happy for me," the rapper explained. "She knows how big Eminem is and she never imagined that I would get to this level. My team actually even surprised me with the news and literally just said 'the Shady deal is done' one day.
"I remember five years ago, sitting in my cousin's car and asking him 'would Eminem get this, would he sign me?' We even went through what the meeting would be like and all that. So I can't say that I never thought about it," Yelawolf said. "Then, a few years later when we were shopping my demo to different labels in New York, I told KP lets take this to Marshall and he just kind of laughed at me. But I always had a feeling he would f*** with it."
Although the deal has been in the pipeline for months, Yela says he's yet to actually record with Eminem, but says he will be soon enough. In fact, he said he'll be in the studio with Eminem this week.
As far as his major label debut, it will be titled Radioactive. Why? Because he's ready to challenge the industry.
"A lot of rappers have this obsession with staying underground, but I want to take it to the stadium level," Yelawolf told Vibe. "We've been sitting on records for like four years that we knew were too big for a mixtape. So I'm just focused on writing a great album right now. That's why I'm calling it Radioactive because I want to personally challenge myself and the industry. It's a metaphor for my version of radio records."

Gucci Mane Checks Into Rehab For Cocaine?

Nearly six months after his release from prison, Gucci Mane is dealing with the distractions of success and all that comes along with it, specifically drugs.
Apparently, the Atlanta rapper has a problem with cocaine, and checked himself into a rehab facility last week, said reports.
According to Ozone Magazine, members of the Gucci's entourage were involved in an hour-long stand-off with with the rapper outside a facility in in Riverdale, Georgia on Thursday (October 14), with whom they pleaded with to get help or possibly face more jail time.
His manager and lawyer were among the people begging him to enter the facility for treatment, during which a Narcotics Anonymous class was interrupted.
Eventually, Gucci agreed and turned himself in for a 28-day drug treatment.
Despite the reports, the rapper's camp has yet to confirm the news. However, it's not the first time, Gucci has been in the media for drugs.
In 2008, he was arrested on a DUI charge, which landed him back in jail for a year for violating terms of his probation, stemming from a 2005 assault charge. Before that, Gucci denied reports that testing positive for cocaine put him behind bars.
"I think it was for marijuana," Gucci said of the failed drug test. "But it definitely wasn't from cocaine. I have never used cocaine. I stopped smoking and stopped drinking. For the last six months, I haven't used any drugs, and I will continue to claim sobriety."
As of press time, there was no official statement from his label or camp. Stay tuned...

Beanie Sigel Charged With Tax Fraud

Philly rapper Beanie Sigel is facing criminal tax fraud charges after he allegedly failed to file his taxes for a period of three years.
According to the Associated Press, charges were brought onto the rapper (real name: Dwight Grant) on Tuesday (October 5) for failing to pay taxes from 2002 to 2004.
During that time, he reportedly earned $1.5 million in income.
Despite the allegations, Sigel's defense lawyer Fortunato Perri Jr. says his client was behind bars during some of those years, and had others handling his finances.
Perri hopes Sigel can avoid prison due to the circumstances.
The rapper served time on drug and weapons charges, and for prescription drug use while on federal probation over the years.
His last major label album, The Solution, was released in 2007. He dropped an indie album, titled The Broad Street Bully, in 2009. It sold just 34,000 copies.

Kid Cudi Opens Up About Cocaine Use, Problems With Wale In Complex Cover Story

Kid Cudi opened up a lot during a new cover story for Complex magazine, where he admits to heavy cocaine use over the past year, throws some shots Wale's way, and even reveals that he recently welcomed a child into the world.
If readers remember correctly, the rapper (real name: Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi) was arrested in June on felony criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance charges after police were called the apartment of his girlfriend following a domestic dispute.
A month later, Cudi said he was "wilding out" and had since calmed down, sticking to marijuana instead of other illegal substances.
In a very open and honest Q&A with Complex, he addressed the cocaine use directly, explaining that he used it to get through his media obligations.
"I started doing cocaine to get through interviews, 'cause people wanted to know a lot about my personal life and I wasn't prepared for a '60 Minutes' interview every time," Cudi told the mag. "Doing bumps I was able to get through the day, but then I would smoke weed to calm me down -- it was the only way I could get through the day without people noticing I was doing it. I never thought it was a problem, but I was definitely high-fiving death a couple of times.
"No more blow," he later added. "People do drugs to camouflage emotions and run away from their problems. Now I'm going to deal with certain things as they come, prioritize sh** -- man up, so to speak."
The rapper goes on to reveal that on his upcoming album, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, he speaks about these same issues, which in the past, he wasn't able to do.
"It took a lot for me to talk about sh** like this on the album. I don't feel like I need to explain myself to anyone besides the fans," Cudi said. "My fans don't believe shit until they hear me say it. And those are true Kid Cudi fans. I want them to know the story."
Complex also questioned Cudi about his situation with Wale, who referenced Cudi's infamous fan assault in a freestyle called "Thank You." According to Cudi, it just showed the world that he's "wack."
"It wasn't a shot, it's just a simple-ass rhyme by a simple-ass rapper," Cudi said of the freestyle. "You can't let that sh** faze you. That's one of those raps that just shows the world that you wack. Why would you even use that as a metaphor? Everybody think they Hov. N****s ain't got the magic like they think they do; there's only a couple of wizards in this game. I'm a wizard and I know it.
"These other motherf***ers like feeding off another n****'s energy, so they mention their name. You hear me talk about n****s? I don't even talk about Kanye, and that's my homeboy," Cudi continued. "They talk about Kanye like they're bosom buddies with this n****. Talking about 'I be in Hawaii' -- man, shut the f*** up, why you got to tell everybody everything? Then people like Wale get mad that 'Ye ain't give him no beats -- 'Ye ain't give you no beats because we ain't f***ing with your raps. It's not a conspiracy theory. We don't f*** with you musically, so we're not going to provide music for you."
As for his new baby, Cudi revealed that it's a girl. He named her Vada and she was born on March 26th.
