R.I.P. Cory Haim

Popular 80s actor Corey Haim died in Los Angeles on Wednesday (March 10). He was just 38 years old.

While an autopsy is still being planned, early reports indicate that Haim died from an apparent accidental drug overdose.
According to local news station KTLA, the actor collapsed in front of his mother around 1:00 a.m. inside an apartment.

"As he got out of bed he felt a little weak and went down to the floor on his knees," Asst. Chief Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Coroner's office told the station.

His mother called paramedics, who rushed the actor to Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m.

Haim had been suffering from flu-like symptoms before he died, said the report, and was getting over-the-counter and prescription medications.

Inside the apartment police found four prescription bottles, not related to his illness. No other drugs were found.
